Conservation District Launches 2026 Seedling Sale; Orders Due by April 1st
The Wayne Conservation District accepts orders for its annual Seedling Sale through April 1. The sale features seedlings and transplants of a variety of native trees, shrubs, and ornamentals, many of which are favored by wildlife.
This year’s offerings include locally grown Black Eyed Susan. These potted plants attract wild birds and are a favorite of wild turkeys. The exceptionally bright golden flowers are great for use along fences, driveways, walks, and property boundaries. The three-inch pots of these and purple coneflower are $4 each.
You can purchase single, containerized seedlings of White Oak, Red Maple, River Birch, and Downy Serviceberry for $7 each. Norway Spruce will be offered as bareroot seedlings, three to a bundle, for $8. Blueberries, Bluecrop and Blueray varieties, will be available for $20 per pair. Apple trees, Honeycrisp and Pink Lady, will be offered for $38 per pair
Finally, bluebird nesting boxes, made right here in Wayne County, are available at $18 each.
Orders must be received by April and must be picked up Friday, April 25, from 12 noon to 6 pm or Saturday, April 26, from 9 to 11 am.
