Agriculture Work Group
The Agriculture Work Group's mission is to expand agriculture as a vibrant industry in Wayne County with quality products produced and sold locally and regionally, allowing farmers to attain family-sustaining incomes and driving economic prosperity throughout the business community.

Business & Economic Work Group
The Business and Economic Work Group's mission is to build an economic base that is sustainable over the long term and fosters the development of resilient communities. This base must be developed realistically and it must be consistent with our desires for a good quality of life.

Education & Workforce Development Work Group
The Education and Workforce Development Work Group's mission is to identify, create, and provide educational opportunities that build our workforce and support lifelong learning.

Quality of Life Work Group
The Quality of Life Work Group's mission is to recognize that the general well-being of people and cultures depends on a wide range of highly interrelated factors.

Sustainability Work Group
The Sustainability Work Group's mission is to create, maintain, and balance the conditions in Wayne County under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony meeting the needs of present and future generations.
Common Themes
Each of these Work Groups was asked to conduct a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) Analysis, and from those efforts a set of themes emerged, showing up on each list in some fashion or another: Broadband Internet Access and Communication; a Career and Technical Center; Economic Development; Education Opportunities; Health and Wellness; Marketing and Branding; Natural Assets; and Transportation.
